columbusdispatch:

The Columbus Downtown Development Corp. is taking on a $35.5 million project to remove the Scioto River’s Main Street dam and develop 33 acres of parkland along the river in the Downtown area.
The project would narrow the river to about half its width, speed the flow of water and leave room for natural habitat, bike paths and other park amenities.
Above: This rendering shows how the Scioto River would look once the Main Street dam is removed.
