Arkadien Winnenden development by Strenger Bauen und Wohnen, Atelier Dreiseitl, and Eble Architektur wins 2011 Green Dot award.
A new development in the Winnenden suburb of Stuttgart, Germany, employs green infrastructure strategies, claiming to be the “world’s most sustainable neighborhood.” Built on the site of an abandoned factory, the new neighborhood controls stormwater, provides energy-efficient housing and amenities within walking distance, and is very pedestrian-friendly.
